What is salary-
a salary is a form of periodic payment from an employer ( government, institution, organization) to an employee, which may be different low or high according to job nature and work position. in J&k government employee get monthly salaryaccording to pay commission, as you know in that present time salary define by 6th pay commission,
How to calculate salary-
final net salary is define with the basic salary+grade pay+miscellaneous allowances minus  NPS OR GPF OR other  there is lots of government allowances which given to the employee to their work nature from central government or state government, here we discuss some major allowances which made your above 80% salary, you have to must know them-
Basic salary- Basic salary means basic pay without allowances, so if your pay scale is 5200-20200 grade pay 2400 then your pay will be 5200+2400= 7600. But as per SRO 266 OF. J&K Govt basic salary for the pay band 5200-20200+2400 is equal to 9840/=
DA ( Dearness Allowances) Dearness allowances is a cost of living adjustment paid to government employee, its calculated as a percentage of an indian citizen basic salary, its increase time to time in presents time the dearness allowances is 136% of basic salary.( As on 01/01/2018)
HRA ( House rent allowance)- HRA given by government to the employee for accommodation rent, its a different according to urban and rural areas but approx HRA is half of pay band, so it is calculated as percentage of basic pay i.e 20%  of basic pay for employees working in  Srinagar and Jammu cities and 10% of basic pay of Employee's  working in other districts of Jammu and Kashmir state. [
( 9840 * 20/100 ) and 9840 *10/100 ]

Medical Allowance is given to meet Medical expenses  its rate is 300 pm.

CCA STANDS FOR CITY compensatery allowance. Its rate is 120 pm for Employee's under 2400 gp.
And other allowance.

After calculating gross salary you must have to make  contribution towards NPS ( NATIONAL PENSION SYSTEM) . ITS rate is 10% of basicpay +grade pay and after crediting it to NPS account your employer credits the same amount in your NPS ACCOUNT.  e.g IF you credit Re. 1000/=. In your NPS Account your DDO or employer also credits Rs. 1000/= so in your NPS accout Rs.  2000 /=  is finally get credited and will be withdrawn utill your retirement.

Questions: what is my final (net salary) of 5200-20200+gp 2400 statistical assistant in Jammu and Kashmir ??

First basic pay  = 9840 as per SRO 266 AND SRO 93
ADD DA@136%. 9840*136%   = 13382/=
NOW ADD  9840+13382
Now add 20% 0f 9840 as HRA ( POSTED AT SRINAGAR CITY)
9840*20/100= 1968

Add medical =300
Add CCA= 120

IT BECOMES =25670/= and is your gross salary

Less contribution @10% of basic pay+ DA
I.E 23222*10%= 2322/=

Now your final salry cr. To bank is 23348/=
